Everybody in Theodosia knows Theresa, not only for her spectacular dancing moves at the age of 98 but for having so many husbands. Theresa is now up for husband number 111.

It is all true love”, says Theresa. “And it should each time be celebrated with a big party”.

“Since I was a little girl, all I wanted to be was a good wife, just like my mother. I grew up in a big household and I always liked taking care of people.”

My first marriage was with Reginald, it was love at first sight. After a couple of years of marriage, I got really along with his best friends, so we decided that I could marry them as well. It was a huge group wedding at a festival. That was in the crazy sixties, when we still knew who to party well, you know, sex, drugs, and Rock ’n Roll.”

But how did she get so many more husbands? “Well, because of the low female birth rate a lot of men in Theodosia are quite lonely and that isn’t always easy. I like to hang out or work in bars and as a bartender, you're like a therapist for a lot of people. They shared their story and I listened to them. I was overwhelmed with the amount of sad and lonely stories and so I figured out that I could help. They could marry me!” says Theresa.

After years lonely men with nowhere to go knew that Theresa could help.

It is an act of love, you know. Love comes in different ways and if I can help people in that way, I just have to do it. And now 80 years later, we are welcoming my 111th husband Richard. What a special number, isn’t it.

We met at church a couple of years ago and he told me that his last wife, Timea, had died in a car accident, what a tragedy. He was so heartbroken. I helped him through his grieve and we became very best friends. So, why wouldn’t we marry?”

"On December the 23th our wedding will take place at The Theodobric Festival. Everybody is welcome! We will be marrying in the big pink bouncy church. The 60’s all over again!"

Our goddess Theodosia sends her blessings to the couple. And in her almighty words: “Real love always finds its ways in Theodosia.
